Benefits Spotlight: Peppermint + Eucalyptus

Scented candles and aromatic mists provide an opportunity to personalize your space and can also have a positive impact on your mood and focus. Whether you’re unwinding after the day's challenges or curating a productive space for yourself, aromatics can be the ultimate tool to help you achieve your desired ambiance.

Creation.

As the name suggests, peppermint belongs to the mint family. It is a perennial herb and a natural hybrid of spearmint (Mentha spicata) and water mint (Mentha aquatica). Menthol and Menthone are among the most active components of peppermint oil.

Eucalyptus is a genus of the plant family Myrtaceae native to Australia and cultivated worldwide. The leaf glands of many species, especially black peppermint tree (E. salicifolia) and Tasmanian bluegum (E. globulus), contain a volatile aromatic oil known as eucalyptus oil.

Both oils are created by extracting essential oils from the flowering plant or leaves through a process called distillation. This process uses steam to separate the oil and water-based compounds in the plant or leaves.

Peppermint.

Peppermint has a reputation for its uplifting scent and the ability to improve mental clarity. We love this aroma for moments when our space needs a freshening reset or setting a mood for relaxation.

In addition, the scent of peppermint has also been known to have:

  • Stress and Anxiety Relief: Calming effects on both the mind and body.

  • Boosts Energy: Increased alertness and focus.

  • Reduces Headaches: Effective in reducing tension or stress headaches.

  • Soothes Nausea: Anti-nausea effect; perfect for those who suffer from motion sickness or morning sickness.

  • Antibacterial Properties: Known to kill harmful bacteria and fungi, makes it an ideal natural air freshener for any space.

  • Mood Booster: Reduces feelings of depression and fatigue while increasing feelings of joy and happiness.

  • Improves Concentration: The revitalizing scent of peppermint can increase cognitive performance by improving memory recall, decision-making skills, and overall mental clarity.

Eucalyptus.

Eucalyptus also provides the stress relieving and mood boosting benefits that Peppermint is known for, but it packs a extra punch with these additional benefits:

  • Air Purification: Known to help remove toxins from the air (pollen, dust, smoke particles) allowing for cleaner, healthier air at home or in your workplace.

  • Respiratory Support: Support respiratory health by offering relief to those who suffer from asthma or allergies.

  • Pain Relief: Provides relief from common aches and pains.

  • Reduced Anxiety: Calm the mind to allow for positive thoughts and increased focus.

  • Improved Sleep Quality: Promotes restfulness, relaxation, and a calming atmosphere— making this an ideal burn before bedtime.

Lastly.

From stress relief to mood boosts, improved concentration to air purification, Peppermint and Eucalyptus are powerhouses when it comes to creating a calm and focused atmosphere of well-being.
