How To Reuse Your Candle Jars

If you’re a candle addict like us, reaching the end of its life can often stir mourning vibes within you but never fear, friends! We can all find solace in granting our candle jars a second life. We’ve compiled a handy list here for you to follow as your guide. We hope you find it helpful and feel good in knowing your candle habit leaves a softer impact on the planet.

HOW TO CLEAN A CANDLE JAR

First things first, you’ll want to remove the remaining wax from your jar. We suggest using the freezer method, as it’s the safest and works best with natural waxes like our coconut and soy blend.

FREEZING CANDLE WAX

After your candle has cooled completely, place your candle jar in the freezer for a few hours (ideally overnight). This allows the wax to harden and makes for an easier time removing the wax from the jar. With a butter knife or spoon, gently press the frozen wax and lift away from the glass. Wipe the jar with cooking oil to remove any residual fragrance oil and essential oils.

WASHING YOUR CANDLE JAR

Now that you’ve removed 99% of the wax, proceed to use warm water and soap to wash your jar and allow it to dry. Remove the label (optional) and you’re set! Your candle vessel is ready to be reused.

REUSING THE CANDLE JAR

Now here’s the fun and creative part… it is time to reuse your jar! There are many ways to repurpose your jar. Here a few of our favorite ways:
